Together we build a robust algorithm that validates if a message, call or link could potentially be a scam. ScamShield also allows users to submit scam reports that will be sent to the Singapore Police Force. If the information in the scam report is deemed suspicious by the police, ScamShield will block the associated phone numbers and links.

The scam landscape is constantly evolving

Based on , in the first half of 2023 alone, $334.5 Million was the total amount lost to scams in Singapore.

Job scams, e-commerce scams, fake friend call scams, phishing scams and investment scams were the top five scam types in the first half of 2023. These made up 83.8% of all scam cases reported during that period.

29.4% of scam cases involved contact via messaging platforms, compared to 23.6% in the same period last year, with about 70.5% of the cases via WhatsApp, and 24.1% via Telegram.

To keep up with the rapid changes in the nature of scams, we must work together to fortify our defence against scammers.
