Step 1: Click on "Set up" next to 'Scam SMS filtering...' to get started.

Step 2: Click 'Next' to proceed.

Step 3: Click 'Next' to proceed.

Step 4: Click "Allow" on all 3 settings to allow ScamShield to:

1) Access your contacts - this will allow ScamShield to only filter messages that are sent from unknown senders who are not in your contacts.

2) Send you notifications - this will be used to alert users when an incoming scam message is detected.

3) Send and view messages - this will allow ScamShield to view SMSes from unknown senders and evaluate if the message is a scam. ScamShield will not view SMSes from your saved contacts.

Step 7: In your ScamShield home screen, you will be able to see SMS filtering is now active.

Please note that ScamShield won't filter or delete these SMSes inside your Messages app. It will only show you the SMSes that are identified as potential scams. To view these SMSes, you may click on 'Show filtered SMSes'.

Please note that ScamShield will need all three of these permissions enabled to be able to filter SMSes successfully and notify you when an SMS is being filtered. ScamShield will not be able to send messages on your behalf or read any of your existing messages. Click to read more about Safety & Privacy.
