# Setting up Scam Alerts on Android

Step 1: Open the ScamShield app. You should see this pop-up. Click on "Explore scam alerts".

Step 2: Alternatively, click on the "Alerts" tab in the bottom navigation bar. There, you should find the list of past scam alerts that have been published.&#x20;

Click on the "Get notified about new and ongoing scams" toggle button at the top of the page. If the toggle is grey or looks like this, it means that scam alert notifications have not been enabled.&#x20;

Step 3: You should see this pop up asking if you want to allow ScamShield to send you notifications. Click "Allow".&#x20;

Step 4: The toggle button at the top of the Scam Alerts page should now be green (and look like this), indicating that you have enabled this feature.

Step 5: Another way to check if scam alert notifications have been turned on your device is by going into your phone settings, find the ScamShield app, and check the notification settings.&#x20;

Note: The steps may look a little different depending on your Android phone.&#x20;
